We try to minimise invites to surveys that our members are not suitable for. You can help us by keeping your profile with us up to date therefore we will be able to send you targeted, hand-to-glove survey invites.
The more profile information you provide when you register, the more likely you are to receive survey invites. When you sign up with us, we also ask how many surveys you would like to participate in. We aim to match the number of surveys given to you with your level of interest in completing them.
Not at all, you have full control to pick and choose what market research you wish to take part in. We always aim to invite members to participate in surveys that are relevant to them; based on the profile information they provide us with. If you haven’t participated in a survey for a while, you may receive an email from us to check whether you wish to remain in our community or to ask you to update your profile so that more relevant surveys are sent to you.
Market research subject matter varies a lot, but generally our surveys are quick and fun to do. Many of our studies focus on everyday topics, products and issues which go on to get coverage in leading journals, magazines and other US and UK media. Our surveys range from topical subjects – such as the environment, the credit crunch, and being an accidental landlord – to more serious subjects like saving for retirement. Examples of our recent polls include ‘the difficulty of women of saying no’, ‘the pains people go through to look good’, ‘which celebrities look great in glasses’ and ‘what colour underwear are worn by different car drivers’ – as you can see the topics are far from boring!
The length of a survey depends on the subject matter and type of survey you are completing, but most of our online surveys take between 5 and 10 minutes. Sometimes we ask people to take part in telephone interviews or focus groups, as well as to provide feedback via a bulletin board, video diary or web cam.

Yes, if you fully complete each survey. Our regular surveys are relevant to most Crowdology™ panellists, however sometimes a specific profile is needed so you will not always fit the criteria. You will not be paid for answering the quick screening questions (e.g. what brand of mobile phone do you own?).

The transfer of your funds to PayPal will take up to 48 hours from the time the request has been made to collect your rewards.
If you are requesting Amazon payment, this can take up to four weeks.
Rewards for completed surveys are paid in cash via PayPal. You can cash out your rewards for payment when you have a minimum of £4 in your account, or alternatively save your rewards until you are ready to redeem them.
Please note: if you want to redeem with Amazon vouchers you will need a minimum of £10 in your account.
No – the reason we exclusively use PayPal is because it is efficient, popular and well respected. It also allows us to keep administration costs lower so that we can pay our members more rewards.
If you want to withdraw via PayPal you will need a personal PayPal account for us to send your cash rewards. It is free and simple to set up – please visit the PayPal website for more information. Alternatively, when you request a cash transfer from us for your rewards, PayPal will automatically set up an account for you and email details on how to login when the transfer is complete.
There is also the option to withdraw with Amazon vouchers – please note it can take up to 4 weeks to receive your voucher code, so if you want instant rewards PayPal may be your best option.
Your Crowdology™ and PayPal email addresses need to be the same. If you registered with us using a different email address that the one you have for your existing PayPal account, you will need to either change the registered Crowdology™ email address, or add your current Crowdology™ email to your existing PayPal account.
PayPal charges a 2% handling fee for transferring money to a member’s PayPal account. You can request a cash transfer once the minimum of £4 in your account is reached.
Crowdology™ follows the Data Protection Act 1998 and current personal privacy legislation, so you can rest assured that your information will not be abused in any way. In addition, we are a division of Redshift Research – a Market Research Society Company Partner which undertakes all research in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and ESOMAR guidelines. Redshift Research is also registered with the Data Protection Agency – registration number Z1751697.
We will never pass your contact details to third parties. By registering with us, you are only agreeing to participate in legitimate market research surveys for Crowdology™ and our parent company Redshift Research Ltd.
When registering with Crowdology™ we ask for basic demographic information about you to be able to send you targeted, suitable surveys. For example, some surveys may be relevant to specific age groups in particular areas of the country. We will also ask for more detailed information if you choose to provide it, such as whether you drive a car, relationship status or own a property. The reason for this is that the more profiling information you complete when registering with Crowdology™, the more surveys you are likely to receive which are suited to your circumstances or interests. For more specialist surveys, we may ask additional screening information to determine your eligibility.
We hope you stay with us, even if you choose not to undertake many surveys each month, but if you no longer want to participate then you are free to deactivate your account at any time. Every survey includes a cancellation link at the footer of the invite or alternatively you can deactivate your account yourself by logging onto our website and selecting the Unregister link. Please note however that if you deactivate your account, we will not be able to pay you any outstanding cash rewards that you have accumulated and re-joining Crowdology™ at a later date will not reinstate the previously accumulated rewards. These rewards cannot be carried forward into a new account.
Anyone can join Crowdology™, providing you are 18 and have access to the Internet plus a phone (land line or mobile). Since we are a UK based community you will also need to be resident in the United Kingdom with a valid postcode. Other than that, all we ask is that you enjoy taking part in opinion surveys and that you give open, honest answers.
There is no cost to join us. In fact it’s the other way round – Crowdology™ pay valued members for taking part in our opinion surveys.
Simply complete the short form in our Register section. Once you have done this, you will be sent an activation email to the email address you provided us with. The activation email will contain a unique validation link that you must click on in order to finalise the creation of your Crowdology™ account. Next, enter your password and account user name so that you can complete your personal profile.
We simply need your district area – this is the first three or four digits of your Post Code.
No, you may still complete surveys even if you haven’t completed your full profile. However, a completed profile means you are more likely to be sent the number of surveys you would like and it also will reduce the chances of being sent invites to surveys that aren’t relevant to you.
More than one Crowdology account would damage survey or poll results, so we trust you understand this is absolutely not allowed. We reward our members fairly for taking part in market research, providing they are honest with their responses. Our advanced systems are able to identify multiple account entries and prevent duplicate participation in surveys. We also undertake quality checks of completed surveys before allocating rewards. Members who don’t abide by these rules run the risk of having their accounts deleted and forfeiting their reward. This is made clear in our Terms & Conditions, which you accept when joining.
